Dermizax® is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable membrane specially developed to protect against all kinds of weather and ensure the highest possible level of comfort. Clothing with a Dermizax® membrane can withstand a water column of at least 20,000 mm and has extremely good moisture-wicking properties. The outside of the fabric has been given a water-repellent treatment so that the water rolls off and does not settle in the outer fabric. However, after prolonged use and several rounds in the washing machine, the water-repellent ability may be weakened. If the outer fabric absorbs water and becomes wet, the jacket may feel cold and condensation will occur more easily. It then pays to re-impregnate the outer fabric with impregnation intended for breathable synthetic material, so that the water rolls off the garment's surface more quickly and maintains its good breathability. We recommend using impregnation spray on garments with a membrane rather than impregnation that is washed in with the garment in the machine. Impregnation through washing seals the fabric from both sides, and the membrane may lose some of its functionality.
